Nasu Sukemura (那須資村)

Sukemura NASU (1190? - 1268?) was a person who lived during the Kamakura period. He was the sixth head of the Nasu clan in Shimotsuke Province. He was the son of the fifth family head, Mitsusuke NASU. He was the father of Sukeie NASU, the seventh family head, and Sukemasa SAWAMURA. He was the Governor of Hizen Province. He was also called Taro.

When he was a devoted believer of Nenbutsu sect and became a disciple of the holy priest Shinran, he was given the name Shinganbo kyonen as his go (byname) and founded Jigan-ji Temple in 1223. It is said that he lived to a great age of 78.
